Bereaved Carers Report 2022

Healthwatch Leeds worked with Leeds Palliative Care Network to find out about people’s experiences of end-of-life care for their relative or friend in a hospital, community (including GP surgeries, Leeds Community Healthcare and private care agencies and care homes) and hospice settings over a period of three months, October to December 2021.

Highlights

65% of people were satisfied or very satisfied with the way services worked together during the last weeks and months of their friend or relative’s life

Recommendations include:  Continue to embed the principles of the Hospital SUPPORT campaign to ensure families of dying patients are given information about care available for them and review the End of Life information provided to patients and families across all community providers.
